چکیده
Foot-related problems are prevalent across the globe, and this issue is aggravated by presence of diabetes mellitus. Diabetic-foot-related issues include extreme foot pain, plantar corns, diabetic ulcers. To assess these conditions, accurate characterization pressure required. In work, an in-shoe, low-cost, multi-material measuring insole, based on a piezoresistive material, was developed. The device has high number sensors, tested 25 healthy volunteers patients with different degrees diabetes. working range observed to be 5 kPa 900 kPa, average hysteresis error 3.25%. Plantar found increase from volunteers, in terms both standing walking. case group, the-high contact area strongly positively correlate (R2 = 0.78) peak pressure. During heel strike phase, showed medial region. regard toe-off central forefoot site for volunteers. developed expected not only assist prediction ulceration or re-ulceration, but also provide strategies suggestions alleviation pain mitigation.

متن کاملUse of Pressure Offloading Devices in Diabetic Foot Ulcers
OBJECTIVE Pressure mitigation is crucial for the healing of plantar diabetic foot ulcers. We therefore discuss characteristics and considerations associated with the use of offloading devices. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS A diabetic foot ulcer management survey was sent to foot clinics in all 50 states and the District of Columbia in 2005. A total of 901 geographically diverse centers responde...
متن کاملPressure and the diabetic foot: clinical science and offloading techniques.
Diabetic foot ulceration is a common, yet in many cases an eminently preventable, complication that affects 1 in 20 patients with diabetes. Risk factors for ulceration include insensitivity (secondary to somatic neuropathy), high foot pressures, callus formation (a consequence of sympathetic neuropathy and high foot pressures), deformities (such as claw feet, prominent metatarsal heads, etc.), ...

OBJECTIVE In this study our aim was to compare the results of standard dressing treatment to negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) performed with a vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) device in patients with diabetic foot ulcers. METHODS We assessed the results of 35 patients treated for diabetic foot ulcer between 2006 and 2008. Of these cases, 20 (4 women and 16 men; mean age: 66 years; range: 5...
